Introduction to prospective students to Biology high education, focusing in the Nordic Center for

Earth Evolution (NordCEE) at University of Southern Denmark, with practical demonstration of my

MSc thesis project about electricity production with Sedimentary Microbial Fuel Cells.

Biogeochemistry: Acid volatile sulfides (AVS) and Chromium reducible sulfides (CRS) determination,

IC, AAS, colorimetric determination of dissolved nutrient and metal.

Microsensors: Oxygen, H2S, pH, microfiber PAM.

Molecular Biology: DNA extraction/purification, PCR, TRFL-P.

Water quality control: microbiological analysis and chemical test according to Spanish legislation

(Real Decreto 140/2003, 7th February).

Field work:

Freshwater and marine sediment sampling (manually and boat operated systems), CTD, water

column sampling, pigments recovery.
